International Women's Day

International Women’s Day is celebrated on March 8th every year! The first International Women’s Day was observed in 1909 in New York and was adopted by the United Nations in 1975. It is a celebration of Women’s rights and suffrage (suffrage means the right to vote).

This international Women’s Day take the time to think about the amazing, strong and fierce women in your life.  Additionally, I challenge you to learn about a woman in STEM who you are unfamiliar with. She can be a person who is living and currently making an impact in STEM, or it can be someone who has passed and left a legacy in her field.  Share her story with your friends, family/or classmates. Post about her on social media! #Cybermentor #InternationalWomensDay
