  • Canada’s first Women in space and the worlds first astronaut-neurologist in!
  • Dr. Roberta Bondar went to space in 1993
  • Dr. Bondar was a physician and studied the effects of space on the human body After her astronaut career she spent the next decade leading an international research team at NASA studying the effects on astronauts of spaceflight and re-adaptation back to Earth’s gravity.
  • Brought her favourite treat with her to space… Girl Guide Cookies!
  • Has received over 22 honorary degrees and is in Canada’s Hall of fame
